Picture Sentence
Cut newsprint into long strips. First person writes a sentence like the beginning of the story and then passes it to the next person who has to illustrate that sentence. Paper is folded to conceal the sentence. Next person has to write what they think is happening in the picture and the next person has to illustrate it.
Frottage / Found image drawing
Tear out a piece of newsprint and walk around looking for interesting surfaces and textures. Use charcoal to print the textures onto your page. Return to the studio and look for shapes in the random textures you found. Try to create a landscape or other images from the textures you discovered.
Exquisite Corpse
Similar to picture sentence, fold a large page 3 times and draw a monster. Draw only in your portion and pass it on without showing the next person what it is.
Scribble Image
Scribble on your page randomly. Pass your work to the next person. The next person should try to find imagery in your drawing.
Draw your dream
Illustrate one of your dreams as completely as you can remember it in a drawing.
Draw your spirit animal
Draw a self-portrait with your spirit animal. This can be as stylized as you like and can take the form of you in a conversation with your spirit animal or perhaps you morphing into an animal.
