Basic Photo Editing

Discover Neutrals

Use the color sampling tool to neutralize cast in photos. Download the accordion guy, the model pics and the storm picture. Work through color sampling and adjustment until you have balanced neutrals in all three photos.

Use masks and adjustments for dynamic range

Create masks which correspond to light ranges in a photo. Use different masks to selectively adjust the range for different sections. Use masks to selectively intensify color or value.

Colorize a photo

Set a black and white photo as a multiply layer and color beneath it. Get a photo with figures and a similar setting to use as a color source photo.

Creative Work

find some photos that are already pretty cool. and use masking and selective adjustment to make them more dramatic. Use a creative approach, don’t go for perfect representation. Add color and new dynamics to the photo.
